Catlin Nchako
Dancer/Advanced Teacher-in-Training
Catlin is in no way new to the SAOCO world. Having studied with SAOCO for well over a year, Catlin showed excellent retention skills and was asked to join the performance group. The decision was easy for Catlin as he always found the teachers and group to be welcoming, supportive, and helpful during classes.
Surprisingly, Catlin has not studied dance in the past. About two years ago, he put his toes to work dancing track style salsa. Out of curiosity, he tried a rueda class and was hooked. The people in SAOCO impressed Catlin - by showing a dedication to the style (through practices and performances) while still maintaining families and behing a cohesive group. He truly enjoys the pool parties, picnics, and ways that SAOCO comes together as a group to have fun while still being decicated dancers.
Catlin has recently taking a stab at running classes. Although he felt a bit overwhelmed at first, he is finding his groove and enjoys teaching the advanced classes. You might see him with his handy notebook full of move breakdowns written each week over the past year. That is dedication!
Outside of SAOCO, Catlin lives, drinks, and eats rueda. He actually didn't realize people did things other than dance outside of practices/classes and has started taking classes to balance out his life.
