Mehrnoush "Noushie" Karimian
Dancer/College Student/Desert Rose

As one of SAOCO's newest members, Merhnoush is our Desert Rose. She was born in Iran, but grew up in Washington, DC. This persian born salsera caught the salsa bug a little less than a year ago. A friend of hers obviously heard some nasty rumors about SAOCO and figured she would love us. She tried us out and has been tearing up the floor with SAOCO for the last few months.

Dance has been a part of Mehrnoush's life for as long as she can remember. Her other dance styles inlcude Persian dancing, hip-hop, interpretive dance and ballroom dance (salsa, cha-cha, rhumba, west coast swing, argentine tango, etc..). In watching her dance, you can see a natural elegance to her movements and her salsa styling is beautiful. We are waiting for her to show us her hip-hop moves though!

When not dancing Noush enjoys playing and watching volleyball, ping pong, basketball, and pretty much every sport under the sun. Reading and hanging out with friends are her other ways to relax as well as learning new languages. Actually, Noush can understand about 4 differnt languages aside from English. The next time you see her, call out "noush, noushie, nouch, nouchie, moosh, mooshie, noush-la-loush, mer-mer, feisty", or whatever other nickname you can come up with and try out a language on her to see if she can understand.
