Roberto hails from Mexico City, Mexico and has lived in the United States for three years. He came to learn English and was to stay for just one year, but, now that he's part of SAOCO, he's not allow to return - we won't let him!

Roberto has been with SAOCO for about eight months. Like David Junior, Roberto attended our holiday party and, after seeing the year-end video, he thought "De aqui soy!!" (I'm there!). SAOCO became their new year's resolution and they encouraged each other to keep attending lessons and, finally, practices. Roberto has grown tremendously as a dancer in the past eight months and recently shined at the DC Salsa Congress! Ask him to demonstrate his mean air-dancing skills and his backstage debut of the one-man version of Azucar - unfortunately not caught by the ever-present Saoco camera!

Outside of SAOCO, Roberto works at an accounting firm and attends classes at Montgomery College. Each night, he watches news from Mexico and listens to National Public Radio during the day. Also, he's learning to play the drums so that he can rock on with his badself! Besides salsa, he also dances merengue and bachata and is open to learning more.
