In the case of Yaritza, SAOCO did not find her but she found SAOCO. Having moved to the DC area from Nicaragua, she did a search online to find salsa casino/rueda and found the SAOCO website. Ernesto invited her to TSR and the rest is history!

Having danced salsa casino and rueda in her home country, Yaritza was already a great dancer. Although she's the youngest member of the group, her dancing shows her years of experience with jazz and folkloric dancing. She dances with flair, style, and poise far beyond her years. She has been a wonderful addition to the group.

Yaritza loves the world of rueda. Not only does she find rueda fun, but, loves to see how within a rueda circle, people from all sorts of backgrounds and countries can come together and dance as a unit.

Outside of the group, Yaritza works with children in a Spanish immersion program as a teacher. Her family is very important to her and they support her by often attending performances. She loves to travel and, of course, spend time with her boyfriend (also a member of the group).
